On June 19th, 2008 the Wichita Park Department worked with the Boys and Girls club "Roots and Shoots" program to install many new native plantings at the new Bike Path Trailhead project in Grove Park. Twelve children ranging from 8-12 years old participated.
The kids learned about different types of indigenous native plantings and will participate in helping to maintain a small section of the garden as it develops. We would like to thank Diane Page and her staff at Boys and Girls club as well as Jeff Best, Landscape Architect with Law Kingdon, Inc. for taking part in this worthwhile event.
