Our City Offices Arts and CultureThe Arts and Cultural Services Division is an active center for all the arts and cultural aspects of the City of Wichita, providing educational information and opportunities for all citizens; and to act as the focal point for coordinating and promoting the visibility of all cultural arts in the community and to advise the City Council and City Manager on matters related to the aesthetic excellence of Wichita’s built environment and art and cultural matters. Central InspectionPromotes, enhances and ensures a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment for every building in which Wichitans live and work, and to promote, enhance and ensure strong, stable and healthy neighborhoods throughout Wichita. City CommunicationsThey manage all public information, government relations, marketing and public education activities for the City of Wichita. The team’s duties include marketing and advertising City programs, public education on City government and specific issues affecting the public and oversight of the City TV Cable Channel 7. City CouncilProvides policy direction for developing and sustaining the health, safety and well being of the community. City ManagerProvides professional leadership and management for a healthy and economically satisfying environment for citizens. Environmental ServicesProvides and preserves a safe environment by enforcing environmental standards that protect the well-being of every person in the City of Wichita and the surrounding area. FinanceProvides financial management leadership, oversight, reporting and various internal services for the City organization. Fire DepartmentMinimizes the loss of life and property resulting from fires, medical emergencies and other disasters through prevention, education and fire suppression activities. Housing & Community ServicesAddresses housing needs of low-to-moderate income households while fostering neighborhood revitalization and improvement of individual structures, through the provision of continuously evaluated and newly developed rental assistance programs, homeowner rehabilitation programs, and assistance to service providers.
