Food Handlers Classes
Food handler cards are required for all persons working or volunteering in a food service establishment in Wichita. Other cities or counties may have differing requirements. Food Handler Classes are held on the first and third Saturday of each month at 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM, and on the first and third Monday of each month at 8:30 AM, 12:30 PM and 6:00 PM . In the event that a holiday falls on a regularly scheduled class day, the class will be moved to that day in the following week. This will NOT change the other regularly scheduled class. The classes are approximately 2 hours in length, and students will receive a Food Handler Card at the conclusion of the class. Students need only attend one session. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. If you pre-register, you must check in at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the class. Unclaimed seats will be released at that time. Call Environmental Health at 268-8351 to register. There is no fee for taking the class. Spanish-speaking classes are held the first Tuesday of every month. Please call for dates and times, or download the schedules below. A two-week notice is needed in order to provide an interpreter for American Sign Language. Pre-registrations left on the after hours line will not be accepted. Parking is available in the lot east of our building, and you can access the auditorium via the east entry door by the flagpole. Please do not bring children under the age of 6.
