In Honored Memory of Firefighters Killed in the Line of Duty
This memorial is located at Fire Station No. 1. As firefighters we are all aware there may come a time in a particular situation, that for one reason or another, we may have to lay down our life for the protection and preservation of life and property in our community. This is something no firefighter wants to do or plans to do, but we understand that it does happen. In our community we have 15 reminders that it happens. Fifteen good men, good husbands and fathers, good sons, good citizens, and good firefighters. These men gave our community what is expected by some, but should be required of no one - their lives. As you read the names that follow, remember them for who they were, not just names on a memorial stone, but as men who were loved by their families and friends, missed by all those who had the good fortune to know them, and hopefully, appreciated by those in the community who they served.
