Jump To: [PDF Documents]

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires local governments to prepare a Consolidated Plan in order to receive funding from a number of HUD programs. The Consolidated Plan comprises the planning and application requirements for the following programs:

  • Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
  • HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME)
  • Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG)

What is a Consolidated Plan?

A Consolidated Plan is a collaborative process through which the community identifies its housing, homeless and community development needs. The Plan establishes goals, priorities, strategies and programs to address those needs. It also identifies how HUD funds included in the Plan will be spent for the upcoming year. The Plan consists of a five-year strategy and a one-year action plan.

The lead agency for development and implementation of the Consolidated Plan for the City of Wichita is the Department of Housing and Commuinity Services.
