Deferred and Diversion Programs

The City Prosecutor's Office within the Law Department administers the City's diversion and deferred judgment programs. The programs are available for eligible first-time offenders. Eligible offenses include speeding, petit theft, certain drug offenses, DUI, and domestic violence. The programs require that certain conditions are met, and upon doing so, the charges may be dismissed. A $25.00 application fee is required at the time the application is filed.

The City Prosecutor's Office is located on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 455 N. Main, Wichita, Kansas. Office hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday-Friday, except holidays. Walk-in office hours are 8:00 - 9:00 AM Monday-Thursday, 4:00 - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday. The phone number is (316) 268-4569.
