Rule 7: Procedures Involving Notices to Appear

7.1

For any criminal or traffic offense where no court appearance is required or requested, and where a schedule of fines for criminal and traffic offenses has been promulgated and approved by the court pursuant to Charter Ordinance No. 122, Section 6, a defendant or counsel for such defendant may obtain one (1) extension of time not to exceed thirty (30) days from the Court Clerk without setting the matter for an appearance before a judge. See K.S.A. 4401 et seq.

7.2

After one (1) such clerk’s extension of time has been given, the clerk may not again extend or delay a court appearance in such case except: upon the written authority of a judge; or as may otherwise be permitted by these Rules.
