The mission of Central Inspection is to promote, enhance and ensure a safe, sanitary and healthy environment for every building in which Wichitans live and work, and to promote and enhance strong, stable and healthy neighborhoods throughout Wichita. Central Inspection is a self-sustaining special revenue fund financed primarily through permits, licenses, and plan review fees. Contractors can submit applications for work on projects, schedule inspections, process permits faster, etc. If you are having trouble logging in, please download the Instructions for Logging Into the Dynamic Portal (CDR) Report a Neighborhood ProblemCitizens can submit a secure online report for incidents such as junk and trash; tall weeds; tall grass; graffiti; nuisances; building code violations; vehicle issues; zoning and sign complaints; and stormwater issues. News and Notices Commercial Project Plans Must Comply with 2010 Accessibility Standards and GuidelinesAfter January 31, 2012, all commercial project plans submitted to our office for plan review and permitting must comply with the 2010 Accessibility Standards and Guidelines. As a reminder, the effective date for compliance with the new regulations is 15 March 2012. This date, (15 March 2012), is the date that actual construction activities occur at the project site and not when the plans are submitted for review or a building permit is issued from our office. 2011 National Electrial Code AdoptedThe Wichita City Council adopted the 2011 National Electrical Code on November 15, 2011. Amendments to the Wichita Residential One & Two Family Building Code AdoptedOn September 20, 2011, the Wichita City Council adopted amendments to the Wichita Residential One & Two Family Building Code (City Code Title 18.51), which incorporate (by reference) new Foundation, Basement & Slab-On-Grade Standards for One & Two Family Dwellings (Standards). The new Standards incorporate and expand the previously-adopted Wichita Basement Standards for One and Two Family Dwellings, and outline new standards for one and two family “slab-on-grade” construction. The new Standards will become effective with building permit applications submitted to the Wichita Office of Central Inspection on or after October 17, 2011.
