The Zoning section responds to commercial zoning complaints concerning land use violations, i.e. illegal businesses and activities.

Other specific duties include inspections and license approval activities for a variety of licenses with particular emphasis on clubs, taverns, drinking establishments, restaurant/drinking establishments, automobile dealerships, storage locations, salvage and wrecking locations, mobile home parks and dealerships, community unit plans, correctional placement residences, home occupations, corner stand licenses, garage sales, commercial parking complaints, etc.

In addition, the zoning section responds to various agencies for zoning verifications and zoning verification letters.

What is the current Zoning Code for the City of Wichita?

The current Unified Wichita/Sedgwick County Zoning Code was adopted in March, 1996 with the most recent amendments dated April 19, 2001. A copy of the code and amendments may be purchased from the:
