Adopt-A-Park Agreement/Contract The Department of Park and Recreation has developed an Adopt-A-Park agreement/contract for use with neighborhoods and other community groups.

Featured City Park A. Price Woodard Park 401 W. Douglas In the heart of Riverfest is A. Price Woodard Park. Located just West of Century II off of Douglas, (East side of Big Arkansas River, South of Douglas to Lewis) this Park will be home to many activities this week. A. Price Woodard Park hosts a beautiful arrangement of waterfalls and has been a home to many weddings. While visiting the park, don’t forget to stop and view the Interrupted Flight sculpture by Harry Bertoia, the Sundial Sculpture by Jack Zavatsky and the Hardship and Dreams bronze sculpture by Dorothy Koelling. Our Mission

The mission of the Park and Recreation Department is to provide a cost-effective system of safe and attractive parks and recreation land, facilities and programs that enhance the beautification of the City, provide for the leisure time pursuits of all Wichita residents and visitors, and promote appreciation of the City’s environmental resources.

The Park and Recreation Department:

• Provides recreational opportunities
• Maintains landscaping at City parks, facilities & along right-of-ways
• Operates a number of cultural and performing arts facilities.

The department supports:

• 4,347 acres of parks and greenways
• 2,407 acres of rights-of-way (medians, highways, arterials and boulevards)
• 10 recreation centers
• 11 swimming pools
• 52 athletic fields
• 5 golf courses
• 8 interactive fountains
• CityArts
• Numerous adult & youth-based activities & athletics programs.

• Century II Convention Center and Expo Hall
• Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum
• Wichita Ice Center

The Park and Recreation Department offers:
