Finlay Ross Park

Address: 123 W. Douglas

District: District 6

Acres: .50

General Information

This small half-acre multi-level park in the downtown area east of Century II was acquired in 1970 from the Urban Renewal Agency. The park is named in memory of one of Wichita's early pioneers, Finlay Ross, who played an important role in the history of the City. He served as Mayor of the City of Wichita for three 1-year terms at the turn of the century and was instrumental in obtaining land and river frontage for the Riverside Parks and the park boulevard system.

Complete with benches, pools, waterfalls and fountains, this well landscaped mini-park is a welcome relief for visitors and workers in the downtown area.
