Address: 701 Amidon District: acreage included in Sim Park Acres: District 6 General Information Officially opened in 1987, Wichita's botanical gardens features 9 acres of landscaped gardens including the Hannah Jabara Entry Garden, the Murdock Street Entrance Garden, the John Firsching Pinetum, the Butterfly Garden, the Martha Parriott Terrace Garden, the Garden on the Rocks, the Wooldridge Brosius Rose Garden, the Aquatic Collection, the Shakespearean Garden, the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden, Cissy Wise Wildflower Meadow, Frank Smith Woodland Glade, Sensory Garden, and Beverly Blue Teaching Garden. The gardens also contain a butterfly hoop house and a small gift shop. Future plans include a Chinese Garden.
