Youth Activities

Before School and After School Program (Latch Key)
These latch key programs are open to Kindergarten through 5th graders. Participants enjoy open play and organized games in the Gym, table, board and video games, playground and movies. Homework time is every Thursday after school, but students have the option of working on homework on a daily basis. The Before School Program begins at 7:00 am and runs through 8:50am (start of school). The After School Program starts when school dismisses at 4:10 pm and runs through 6:00 pm. Participants must be signed in and out of each program. Program fees are $15 per program per participant. These latch key services are not available when school is not in session.

In-Service Camps (offered at Linwood Recreation Center)
During USD 259 district-wide inservice days and Spring Break, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
2012 Schedule: February 21; March 15, 16 & March 19-23; April 30
Youth ages 6-13 can sign up and participate in these licensed/supervised day camps. Cost is $15 per day - per camper. Program includes an AM & PM snack, organized activities including gym games, crafts, board games, movies and much more. Participant must bring their own lunch and drink. Enrollment is limited to 45 campers on a first-come first-serve basis. Special licensing paperwork is required and must be completed prior to the start of camp, so register directly at Linwood.

Rental Information

Rooms at Colvin Recreation Center are available for rental in 4-hour periods. The recreation center is available for rent Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 10 PM.
