47th-55th St. South Joint Area Plan
In mid-2007, the City of Derby, the City of Wichita, and Sedgwick County formed a joint Committee to begin coordinating and planning for the potential future extension of municipal water and sewer services into the Plan Area depicted on the attached map. The Committee has worked for several months collecting and evaluating information, and drafting a tri-jurisdictional approach that reflects both current trends and the potential ability to extend municipal services, should further development expand into this area over the next 20 years. The plan contains an existing conditions analysis of natural features, land uses and services, population and employment projections, development trends, and zoning and land use policies affecting the Plan Area. A Future Land Use Concept has been proposed (out to the year 2030) that will serve as a guide for all three jurisdictions to use when making decisions about future development and municipal servicing requests. 47th St.-55th Street South Joint Area Plan: - Ordinances, Resolution - Steering Committee, Table of Contents, Executive Summary, Plan Framework & Existing Features - Development Trends - Existing Services - Existing Zoning and Land Use Policies - Future Urban Growth Assumptions - Future Municipal Community Servicing Concept - Future Land Use Concept Description - Future Land Use Concept Maps - Tri-Jurisdictional Task Force Key Dates Relating to the Plan: February 21st - MAPC briefing March 20th - Derby Planning Commission - Public Hearing March 27th - MAPC Public Hearing April 8th - Derby City Council – Consider Plan Adoption April 15th - Wichita City Council – Consider Plan Adoption April 16th - Board of County Commission – Consider Plan Adoption
