Historic Preservation
There are over 600 structures in the City of Wichita that are listed in the local, state and/or national registers of historic places either as individually listed properties or are properties within an historic district. The Historic Preservation Office provides staff support to the Historic Preservation Board, whose job it is to provide design review for these properties, and assist property owners with listing new properties. The office also provides information regarding financial incentives for historic property owners and general technical assistance regarding appropriate maintenance procedures for historic buildings.
