Her responsibilities include daily data entry of statistical information and overtime and maintaining adequate supplies for the Bureau. Joan is a valuable employee to the organization.  She has never waivered on her commitment and dedication to the city or to the community. She is the hub of the Patrol West facility, a vital part to the success the men and women assigned to Patrol West have experienced over the years.

Galen began his voluntary service with the Wichita Police Department Reserve Unit in September 1970. Total hours of voluntary service to the WPD Reserves totaled 13,462 as of August, 2006. This lifetime service has not only benefited the community, but also the Reserve Officers he has trained, influenced and mentored. The Reserve Unit provides immeasurable financial and human resource advantages to the Wichita Police Department; a large percentage of the volunteer hours are spent staffing special events, such as the Wichita River Festival, Wichita Flight Festival, Automobilia, the Big Dog Motorcycle Rally and many others. Much of the Unit’s success is due to Galen’s hard work and passionate efforts.  Galen remained steadfast over the years in his vision of professional, motivated and highly trained Reserve Officers.
