My name is Keith Fort. I am the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Heights High School. Originally from St. Louis, Mo, I moved to Wichita in 1990 and earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Wichita State University. I have been a member of the Wichita Police Department for eleven years, starting as a patrol officer based at the Northeast Substation. During my three years there, I became a DUI Enforcement Officer as well as a Field Sobriety Testing Instructor in the Motorcycle Unit. I am also a member of the WPD Bomb Unit.  After an extensive career within the traffic section, I desired a change of pace.
 
 As the SRO at Heights High School, I am the link with the Safe and Drug Free School program, which provides preventative and counseling service in USD 259. I also work hand-in-hand with the principals here to provide a safe environment for both students and teachers. I enjoy the interaction with students where I am able to act as a counselor and a mentor on a daily basis. This is my second year at Heights and I continue to look forward to the new and exciting challenges that this position has to offer.
