I am Officer Ronald Hunt. I am a twelve-year veteran of the Wichita Police Department. I am currently assigned to Robinson Middle School as the School Resource Officer. This is my seventh year in this assignment and I am happy to be here. My past assignments have been to Patrol East Bureau for four years on second watch, and a year in School Liaison.
I am a very dedicated hard worker both at the school and for the city. Some of my past accomplishments are; I am one of two officers’ from the Wichita Police Department that traveled to New York to help out with 9-11. I received the Good Apple Award from USD 259 in 2002 and 2005, and The Excellence in Public Service Award from the City of Wichita in 2002.
While here at the school I serve as the head girls’ basketball coach and I am an assistant with the cross-country team. I am very actively involved with the students and staff here. In June of each year, I take several students camping to Colorado for a week. Some activities included walking down Pikes Peak Mountain, which is 13 miles, spending the day in at the Royal Gorge, taking a gold mine tour 1000 ft under ground and visiting Seven Falls. This was all on my vacation time from the city.
I am very honored to work with the students and staff here. If you have any questions or concerns that I may be able to assist you with, I can be reached at the school. My office number is 973-8646.
