Hello, My name is Shane Russell and I have been a Wichita Police Officer for eleven years. I have been a School Resource Officer for the last three years and have really enjoyed this assignment. It has been beneficial to me because I can see the positive things that I have done in the life of kids. It really does make a difference when you can see the positive impact that you can make on a kid who is at risk.
I have worked in law enforcement for approx. 13 years and am a veteran of the U.S. Army. I received three B.S. degrees from Kansas State University and have attended numerous law enforcement training classes. My life is based around my family which I devote majority of my time. I have been at Truesdell Middle School since November of 2003 and have enjoyed the school very much. This is a very large school and the student population is very diverse. I enjoy teaching law related education to the students at Truesdell and enjoy working with them on a daily basis.
In conclusion, I would like to say that the School Resource Officer Position is greatly needed in USD 259 and I see daily the changes that I have made in young peoples lives. I enforce the laws at the school and try to set an example for others to follow. Thank you for the time, and I hope that this year goes as good as it did last year. God bless and be safe! |
