Missing Person - COLD CASE #1

VICTIM: Vivian Botz

LOCATION: Pawnee and Broadway

DATE: May 1, 1998

On May 1, 1998, forty-six-year old Vivian Botz was picked up from work by her daughter and taken to the area of Pawnee and Broadway to visit a friend. Vivian, who is described as 5'8, 120 lbs, and having brown hair got out of her daughter's car and began walking toward her friend's house. That was the last time that Vivian's daughter saw or heard from her. Police are still investigating Vivian's disappearance and they feel that her life may be endanger. If anyone has information about those who may be responsible for her disappearance, call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. 

 


HOMICIDE - COLD CASE #2

VICTIM: Ronald D. Arnett

LOCATION: 750 East 21st North

DATE: June 17, 1996

On February 11, 1995 Evelyn Sims reported her son, Ronald Arnett as missing to the Wichita Police Department.  According to Mrs. Simms, she last saw her son in the area of Central and Broadway on December 30, 1994.  Mr. Arnett was homeless and was living on the streets in the City of Wichita and required medication on a regular basis.

Sometime around January 18, 1996 a checkbook belonging to Mr. Arnett was located in the 2100 block of North Topeka.  The checkbook was turned in to a bank branch by the citizen who recovered it.

On June 17, 1996 the skeletal remains of Mr. Arnett were located inside a trailer at 750 East 21st street North.  Evidence at the scene indicated Mr. Arnett was a victim of a homicide.
