Robbery Prevention at Home

• Keep all doors and windows locked.  If the weather is warm and you normally leave your doors open for ventilation, lock the screen door. 

• Keep outdoor lighting on at night. 

• Do not advertise that you live alone. 

• Keep landscaping trimmed and away from windows and doors to avoid providing a hiding place for the perpetrator. 

• Do not allow strangers into your home.  If they are requesting assistance, advise them you will call the police for them. 

• Report suspicious activity in you neighborhood to police. 
  

• Advertise your security alarm system by placing signs in visible locations. 

• If you arrive home and your door is open or things appear to be out of place DO NOT GO IN YOUR HOME. Leave and call the police immediately.

• Write down license numbers of suspicious vehicles in your neighborhood.
