The Humane Society of the United States Founded in 1954, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) envisions a world in which people satisfy the physical and emotional needs of domestic animals; protect wild animals and their environments; and change their relationships with other animals, evolving from exploitation and harm to respect and compassion.
Kansas Humane Society The cornerstone of our service is the animal shelter. Every year, more than 11,000 animals are turned in or abandoned at our shelter. Sadly, only 44% are adopted out to loving families. Of these, most are dogs and cats, though we do accept other animals, such as horses, pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and birds.
Kansas State University > College of Veterinary Medicine > Rabies Lab As part of the Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, we perform a variety of services including serologic testing of humans, serologic testing of animals for export to rabies free countries, diagnostic testing of Kansas and Nebraska animals, maintenance of numerous related databases, and regional variant typing on samples from KS, NE, AR, SD, MO, and OK.
Pets911The Pets 911 mission of ensuring a better future for our pets started with a goal of a nation of no more homeless pets. Pets 911 was developed with input from dozens of national and local individuals to become the nation's single call to action that connects the 7,000 animal welfare organizations who are working together to help ensure all healthy, adoptable pets have homes.
