Sidewalk Maintenance
Property owners are responsible for maintaining the sidewalks abutting their property in safe and walkable condition, including keeping them free of ice and snow, dirt/mud, weeds/vegetation, and debris.  If a property owner fails to keep their sidewalk clean and clear, and the City of WIchita cleans the walk, the cost of cleaning (and fees) will be assessed to the property.  Also, if a trip hazard is reported, an inspector will 'condemn' the walk to have it repaired by the City, with the cost of the repair (and fees) assessed to the property.  To report trip hazards or obstructed sidewalk, call 268-4418.
