Water Center Pervious Parking Lot and Rain Garden

This picture illustrates a five gallon bucket of water being poured onto the porous pavement.
This picture illustrates impervious pavement on the left and porous pavement on the right. A bucket of water is poured onto the impervious pavement, the water runoff creates a puddle and eventually runs off into the rain garden. The porous pavement pictured on the right was created to reduce the amount of water runoff.  As illustrated, the same bucket of water was poured onto this portion of pavement and there is no water runoff.
This picture illustrates the rain garden. Any excess storm water makes its way to the rain garden and nurtures the plant life that live here.
