Wichita Water Utilities Customer Service is the Revenue Management and Direct Customer Services provider for the Utilities.
The seventy-six (76) employees read and bill approximately 6,500 service locations daily and handle an average call volume of over 700 calls daily. Customer Service and Water Distribution share the emergency response functions on shifts outside of normal business hours, providing emergency response to such events as main breaks and shutoffs due to flooding from broken pipes twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Revenue Management tracks the receipt of some fifty-seven million dollars in annual revenues. Field and office staff respond to complaints relating to high bills and service quality. Termination of service for nonpayment of bills is also handled by the Customer Service employees.
Wichita Water Utilities Customer Service manages numerous current and prospective wholesale and retail service contracts with municipalities and rural water districts in the Metropolitan area.
