In an era of fiscal constraint, economic uncertainty and diminishing fiscal resources, a new comprehensive plan is needed for Wichita-Sedgwick County
to provide a policy framework that will guide future public investments.
The Wichita Bicycle Master Plan will be a guide for the City of Wichita, identifying the
community needs, vision, and future goals related to bicycling in the City.

On October 13, 2009, the City Council approved a contract with Goody Clancy to develop a downtown master plan.
The plan took approximately 12 months to complete. The end result is Project Downtown-The Master Plan for Wichita that
was adopted as an element of the Wichita-Sedgwick County Comprehensive Plan.
