Meet Pete Meitzner, City Council District 2
Pete is a lifelong resident of Wichita, who graduated from Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School and Wichita State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He and Suzi, his wife of 30 years, have two teenage children. Pete was employed in the Wichita banking industry for 13 years before venturing into entrepreneurship 20 years ago when he started a telecom company. Pete campaigned on bringing his business experience and perspective to the City Council. He has budgeting and community knowledge that will help move the city forward. Pete's previous business experience allowed him to work closely with numerous state, county and city governments across the United States, a professional journey that gives him valuable insight on the various ways a city can be run effectively. One of his greatest passions is serving as advisory board president of The Lord's Diner, a nationally recognized nonprofit soup kitchen that uses volunteers to prepare and serve hot nutritious meals to the hungry and homeless. Pete is a conservative who remains active in his church, local schools and several area civic organizations. Pete is committed to finding additional ways to serve this community and to helping Wichita become an even greater city to live, work and play.
