The City of Wichita fiscal year for Community Development funding is July 1 through June 30.
Current fiscal year programs include home repair, neighborhood services, employment and training, youth services, services for victims of domestic violence, and planning and administration with CDBG funds.
HOME-funded programs include homebuyer assistance, affordable housing development and boarded up house program.
Emergency Solutions Grant funds are supporting local homeless shelters and providing homeless prevention (for persons facing eviction) and rapid re-housing (of homeless persons).
The Fifth Program Year Action Plan contains activities made possible by funding from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants. The grants fund the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG), and Home Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). The plan was approved by City Council and submitted to HUD on June 18, 2013. The plan was approved by HUD on July 19, 2013.
