The CNE Area Plan provides the vision for the revitalization of the CNE Area community and serves as a toolbox
for area neighborhood associations.
"Re-creating a quality city center neighborhood desirable for quality living and working based on the preservation
and enhancement of existing character."
Components of the plan include a land use concept, the redevelopment of the UP Railroad Corridor, redevelopment guidelines
for developers, and a linear park with a bike path and special landscaping.
On October 13, 2009, the City Council approved a $500,000 contract with Goody Clancy to develop a downtown master plan. The end result is Project Downtown - The Master Plan for Wichita.
The South Central Neighborhood Plan outlines the community's vision of what the South Central Neighborhood will be
like in 2030. This vision is based upon an assessment of the neighborhood's top issues.
This Plan was initiated by the City of Wichita in its application and receipt of a Metro Community Capacity Building Grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing.
