The Housing and Community Services Department is funded with federal and state funds to provide housing and related services to benefit the citizens and neighborhoods of Wichita. The department uses these funds to provide direct services and to contract with community service providers.
All services are provided to persons who meet 2016 income qualifications and are otherwise eligible for assistance.

Annual Action Plan
This Plan identifies the 2017-2018 spending priorities for funds recieved from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-to benefit low and moderate income persons. The public is encouraged to review and comment on the proposed Plan.
WRITTEN COMMENTS MAY BE SUBMITTED THROUGH APRIL 28. 2017
There will be a public hearing on the Plan during the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 9:00 AM in the City Council Chambers. City Hall is located at 455 N. Main St. , Wichita KS. Oral comments can be made at that meeting.

Comprehensive Housing Policy
Staff in the Housing and Community Services Department completed a Comprehensive Housing Policy to help shape and guide future decisions which may impact on the quality of life with respect to housing. The policy references housing affordability and availability, as well as neighborhood stability and resources needed to implement strategies which are recommended.
