The Subdivision Committee is composed of six members from the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC) and are annually appointed by the Chair of the MAPC with ratification from the fully MAPC. The six members are split evenly between appointees from the Wichita City Council and Board of Sedgwick County Commission. The purpose of the Subdivision Committee is to make recommendations to the MAPC on matters related to subdivision rules and regulations, approval of preliminary and final plats, vacations, dedications, access control issues, and other land development issues.
The Utility Advisory Committee shall meet with the Subdivision Committee in order to submit its recommendations for all preliminary and final plats and planned development plans. The Utility Advisory Committee shall consist of representatives of those pubic and private agencies having a direct interest in public works, public utilities, health, and safety.
