Ride transit, save money
Wichita Transit will join other public transportation systems nationwide to participate in the fifth annual “Dump the Pump Day” on Thursday. Sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), the 2010 “Dump the Pump Day” encourages residents to ride public transportation and save money.
To participate in the campaign, Wichita Transit encourages riders to bike part way and ride the bus the remainder of their trip. In partnership with the Health and Wellness Coalition, Transit will offer random giveaways throughout the day for those combining bicycling with public transit.
“Public transportation is a great travel option that also helps people save money,” Vallery Fields of Wichita Transit said. “Please do your part to improve health and increase savings by riding your bike and taking the bus for your travel needs.”
