Wichita to Host DUI Seminar

City of Wichita and State of Kansas officials will hold a seminar to train prosecutors and law enforcement officers how to investigate and prosecute impaired driving offenses on Monday and Tuesday in Wichita. More than 120 prosecutors and law enforcement officers from across the state are scheduled to attend the seminar at the Courtyard by Marriott in Old Town, 820 E. Second. The 14-hour seminar focuses on investigation, reconstruction and prosecution of impaired driving offenses. Featured speakers include:

  • Joanne Michaels, Director of the National Traffic Law Center, Alexandria, Virginia;
  • Warren Diepraam, Prosecutor Fellow, Assistant District Attorney, Montgomery County, Texas;
  • Gary Werner, Technical Trooper and Public Resource Officer, Kansas Highway Patrol;
  • Bob Schluben, Master Police Officer, Lenexa Police Department; and
  • Karen Wittman, Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor, Office of the Kansas Attorney General.

Attending organizations include the Wichita Police Department, the Kansas Highway Patrol Drug & Alcohol Evaluation Unit and the Kansas Department of Transportation and Bureau of Traffic Safety.
