The Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) is partnering with the Wichita Thunder to raise funds for youth-council activities. Funds are being raised through the sale of discounted tickets for the Thunder matchup against Rio Grande Valley on Friday at the INTRUST Bank Arena. Blue Level Reserved and Yellow Level Reserved seats will sale for $15 and $12, respectively, saving patrons $5 off the regular ticket price. A portion of each sold ticket will be donated to MYC for student programs.
MYC is the result of a partnership between the City of Wichita and the Wichita/Sedgwick County Regional Prevention Center at Mirror, Inc. The mission of the council is to provide Wichita youth with an opportunity to weigh in on community issues and learn about City Government. In conjunction with the City of Wichita and the Regional Prevention Center, MYC members are given additional tools and educational opportunities to help them make decisions that effect their lives.
