Operation Impact

Beginning midnight on March 23rd, The Wichita Police Department will be participating in Operation Impact. Operation Impact is a multi-agency initiative to enforce the speed limit on Kellogg/US 54 from Goddard, KS to Augusta, KS. Law enforcement agencies participating in this project are: Wichita Police Department, Sedgwick County Sheriffs Department, Goddard Police Department, Andover Police Department, Augusta Police Department, Butler County Sheriffs Department, and the Kansas State Highway Patrol.

Operation Impact will be run from 12:00 am March 23rd to 12:00 am March 24th.

Sgt. Jim Krok with the Wichita Police Department said, “Our goal is to get drivers to slow down, obey the posted speed limit, practice safe driving habits, and wear their seatbelts.” Sgt. Krok stated that in Wichita, this year alone, officers have already issued over 400 citations to drivers speeding along Kellogg.
