The Wichita Police Department will host the 2nd Annual Walk Against Gang Violence Saturday, 10 a.m. at Evergreen Neighborhood Park and City Hall, 2700 N. Woodland.
The Walk is a partnership with several local non-profit groups and residents along with the Police Department. More than 50 educational booths will be open for the public to browse available resources to combat gang issues. Representative Mike Pompeo, Mayor Carl Brewer, Council Members Janet Miller, James Clendenin, and Lavonta Williams are scheduled to participate.
Parking at Evergreen Recreation Center will be limited due to displays. Parking is encouraged at Cloud Elementary School to the north of Evergreen Park, or on the street.
