A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday at the southwest corner of Greenwich and Harry, to celebrate the completion of two intersecting arterial reconstruction projects. Council Member Pete Meitzner and other City of Wichita official will speak.
Parking will be across the street, at Rob’s Transmission Shop, 1620 South Greenwich. (Emprise Bank parking is limited to customers only.)
Harry Street from Greenwich to 127th Street East was rebuilt to add a center left-turn lane, with new traffic signals and left turn lanes at Harry and 127th Street. Work on the $2.95 million project began in May 2010.
Greenwich from Harry to Kellogg was rebuilt to provide two through lanes in each direction and a center left turn lane, with upgraded traffic signals and left turn lanes in all directions at Greenwich and Harry. Left and right turn lanes were built from Lincoln onto Greenwich, and a new traffic signal installed there as well. Work began in March 2010.
