Southbound Seneca at Kellogg is expected to reopen today after being closed in order to remove loose concrete from a damaged bridge girder. Seneca will remain open over the holiday weekend.
Seneca will close again Nov. 28 through Dec. 9 for the first phase of repairs to the bridge. Installation of a new girder and repairs to the bridge deck will require the closure while repairs are made to the bridge overhead.
A truck struck and damaged the Kellogg bridge over Seneca last week. Kansas Department of Transportation and City engineers have determined that damage to the bridge is limited to the outside girder.
