Candidates for the vacant District IV Wichita City Council seat will participate in interviews with the District IV Advisory Board (DAB) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 2, at the Lionel Alford Branch Library, 3447 S Meridian.
Four candidates have submitted their names to fill the Council seat vacated by the resignation of Michael O’Donnell, who will become a state senator later this month. The City Council will select one of the four candidates to serve until voters pick a permanent replacement during the April 9 general election. The candidates who filed a petition for candidacy are:
- Joshua Blick, 2039 S. Everett;
- Jeff Blubaugh, 10915 W. Atlanta Cir.;
- Paul Gray, 4416 S. Doris;
- Stan Reeser, 2551 S. Hiram.
Municipal ordinances require the DAB members to nominate a minimum of four candidates for consideration by the City Council for the position.
Council Members will interview candidates on Jan. 7. Members of the City Council are expected to observe the Wednesday night DAB interviews.
