The Wichita Police Department on Wednesday announced new assignments for Deputy Police Chiefs, reassignments designed to enhance the leadership team amid an ongoing reorganization, Police Chief Norman Williams said.
Deputy Chief Terri Moses was moved to the Support Service Division from the Field Services Division. Moses will manage the Administrative Services, Records and Training Academy bureaus. She will oversee 166 staffers. Deputy Chief Moses was promoted in 1995.
Deputy Chief Nelson Mosley was moved the Field Services Division from the Support Services Division. Mosley will manage operations for WPD’s four patrol bureaus (Patrols East, North, South and West). He will oversee 509 staffers. Deputy Chief Mosley was promoted in 2009.
“The new assignments reflect the Wichita Police Department’s commitment to developing our leadership team,” Williams said. “The new assignments provide an opportunity for the Deputy Chiefs to share their unique leadership styles with other division personnel.”
The Deputy Chief for the Investigations Division remains open since the retirement of Tom Stolz. Williams expects to fill the position once the selection process is complete. The Investigations Deputy Chief oversees the three investigative Bureaus: Person Crimes, Property Crimes and Special Investigations.
