City requests input from residents about street closures
The City of Wichita is hosting a public meeting at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9 in Room 101B at the Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center to get community input about street closures connected to walks, runs and marathons. Century II is located at 225 W. Douglas.
“We recognize the importance of events in our community, and we want to improve the street closure process for these types of events,” said John D’Angelo, manager of the City’s Division of Arts & Cultural Services.
During the meeting, City officials will share ideas and suggestions they have received from promoters and event organizers to lessen the impact on surrounding neighborhoods and businesses. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions.
