Construction work will close road between Broadway and Hydraulic
Due to recent and potential rain, the concrete pour and closure related to North 37th Street improvements have been postponed, Public Works & Utilities officials said on Friday.
The construction work is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Aug. 15. It will close 37th Street between Broadway and Hydraulic. Thru traffic will detour to 29th Street at Broadway and Hydraulic streets. Local traffic will be allowed to Ohio Street.
The $5.2 million project is widening 37th Street to a three-lane roadway. Construction is also providing area storm drain improvements. The project, which began in February, has a target completion date of spring 2015.
The Public Works & Utilities Department provides the design and construction of City infrastructure and ensures compliance with environmental regulations. The department maintains more than 5,000 lane miles of streets, 2,000 miles of water and sewer mains, and 5,700 miles of floodways.
