Free Spaying, Neutering and Other Pet Services
Free spaying and neutering for pets owned by low-income residents is currently available. The pets will receive a free rabies vaccination and micro-chipping and owners will receive a free pet license for one year. The services are provided from late October through early November, 2009.

Energy Improvements for your Home
The South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD) has received funding to provide grants to low income families, who own or rent their homes, to make home energy improvements. Eligible improvements include weather-stripping around windows and doors, sealing air and gas leaks, installing insulation and replacing refrigerators and repairing/replacing furnaces and air conditioners. Support for Local Small Businesses
Improved Storefronts in Low-Income Neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood Facade Improvement Program is funded through CDBG-R ARRA funds. The funds will be used for improvements to commercial building facades. Preliminary applications will be accepted from November 15, 2009 through January 1, 2010.
Program guidelines and applications for the Neighborhood Facade Program are available online in the Urban Development website and at the Urban Development Office, Housing and Community Services Department and Neighborhood City Halls.

Funding Program - Small Business Administration (SBA)
The Small Business Administration has received funds to reduce loan fees, provide higher guarantees, enhance current SBA programs and more.
