City Public Works Projects

Funding Program - Surface Transportation Program
Funding Amount - $8,352,000

On April 14, 2009, the Transportation Policy Body of the Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization approved five street projects for the City of Wichita, totaling $8,352,000. 

KDOT is reviewing final plans and bid documents for projects at Maize, Pawnee to Kellogg and Hydraulic, Harry to Kellogg.  Bids will be opened in November, 2009. A list of projects is available below.

Local Kansas Department of Transportation Projects

A Safer Interchange at 47th Street South

Funding Program - State Highway Projects
Funding Amount - $16,150,000

The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved reconstruction and upgrades to the interchange at 47th Street south and I-135.   This $16.15 million project will reduce congestion at the intersection of the Kansas Turnpike, I-135, I-235 and 47th Street.  It will also replace a bridge that is at the top of the state priority list.  For progress updates on this project, visit the Kansas Department of Transportation website.
