The City of Wichita received funding for two new officers for 36 months. Two officers began the recruit class on March 1, 2010. Additional Law Enforcement Equipment Funding Program - Byrne Justice Assistance GrantFunding Amount - $1,149,854 The City of Wichita and Sedgwick County will share a $2,195,133 grant allocation from the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant. Wichita's share of the grant award will pay for radios, tasers, investigations equipment, workstations, scanning services and police equipment.
