Yes, call (316) 268-4441 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 PM to schedule a visit from your local station. They will be happy visit your function and share valuable safety information.
Burn permits are obtained from the Wichita Fire Department offices which are located on the 11th floor of the City Building at 455 N. Main. Burn permits are free of charge, however, there are strict regulations on burning in the city limits, and procedures to be carried out when using a burn permit. Subjects caught in violation of the city burning ordinances can be subject to heavy fines. Call (316) 268-4441 for more information on obtaining and using burn permits.
Yes. Started in 1984, the REACH program (Respond Early And Control Hypertension) is a joint program between the Wichita Fire Department, the Sedgwick County Fire Department, and the Wichita Heart Association and has received national acclaim. You may go to any city or county fire station on Saturdays between 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon and have your blood pressure taken. See Fire Station Locations for the nearest fire station.
