ITEM NO. 6 OLD BUSINESS Ms. Morgan advised that she spoke with Kurt Schroeder and he mentioned that they had the LED Workshop with City Council and there are going to go with the modern approach, and the recommendations that the Historic Preservation Board made. ITEM NO. 7 CONSENT AGENDA A. Roof Repairs –For properties eligible for the State Historic Income Tax Credits, the owners were notified and given the appropriate applications to file for the credits. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). ITEM NO. 8 CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS APPLICATIONS 1. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00131) Environs, Park Place/Fairview Historic District APPLICANT: Lionel Young and All States Window and Siding FOR: 1825 N Park Place Applicant proposes to cover existing wood siding and soffits and replace with vinyl siding, fish scale siding in gable ends to remain. All States Windows & Siding representative was present for comments and questions. Motion #4 made by Arteaga, 2nd by Guy to find that the proposed project does not encroach damage or destroy the environs of the Park Place/Fairview N.R. Historic District with the condition that the pedimented porch entrances retain the fish scale siding, the window and door trim profile be maintained and the porch piers remain original. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). 2. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00135) National Register Nomination C.M. Jackman House APPLICANT: Randall K. Rathbun, owner FOR: 158 N. Roosevelt Submission of National Register nomination. Motion #6 made by Guy, 2nd by Hiesterman to support the nomination to the Register of Historic Kansas Places and the National Register of Historic Places of 158 N. Roosevelt. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). 3. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00136) National Register Nomination Grace Wilkie House APPLICANT: David and Sue Wettstaed FOR: 4230 E. English Submission of National Register nomination. Mr. George Platt provided the History on Grace Wilkie and her contributions to Wichita State University and the community. Motion #7 made by Platt, 2nd by Arteaga to support the nomination to the Register of Historic Kansas Places and the National Register of Historic Places. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). 4. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00142) Warehouse and Jobbers National Register Historic District APPLICANT: Shelden Kamen, owner FOR: 139 N. Mead Applicant proposes to build steel patio above parking at the west end of the building 26 feet X 24-1/2 feet. Motion #8 made by Guy, 2nd by Ingle to deny the request to construct the steel patio above the parking. This building is a contributing structure in the Warehouse and Jobbers National Register Historic District and the patio is an inappropriate addition to the building. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). 5. MAJOR: (HPC2007-00165) APPLICANT: Miguel Hernandez FOR: 1424 N Fairview Mr. Miguel Hernandez was present for comments and questions with Laura Hernandez, OCI, as interpreter. Motion #5made by Arteaga, 2nd by Guy to allow them to build the garage with siding to match the house. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). ITEM NO. 9 MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS 1. Project review for Faηade Loan Program – item to be rescheduled. 2.
