WICHITA HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MINUTES 26 May 2004 Special Meeting, 245 N. Clifton 3:00 P.M. A special meeting of the Historic Preservation Board was held Wednesday, May 26th, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. at 245 N. Clifton, Wichita, Kansas. ITEM NO. 1 ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order and board members stated their names. Members Present : George Platt (Chair) Paul Cavanaugh Randal Steiner Mim Hiesterman Members Absent : Kim Edgington Claire Willenberg William Deer Staff Present : Kathy Morgan, Senior Planner, Historic Preservation, MAPD ITEM NO. 2 1. MAJOR: (HPC2004-00063) Environs, Senator Long House APPLICANT: Kathy Sandy, owner Brian Reischmann, contractor FOR: 245 N. Clifton Applicant proposes to tear down an existing one-car garage and build new three-car garage. The board members discussed the new location of the garage and the design of the structure. Motion was made by Steiner, seconded by Cavanaugh that the proposed project does not encroach, damage or destroy the environs of the Senator Long House. The board further requested the following conditions: gable of garage to match the stucco/batten and roof pitch of the porch pediment; half-story wall to be seven feet tall, and all city code requirements are to be met.
