MAJOR: (HPC 2008-00255) East Douglas Historic District, contributing structure APPLICANT: McCluggage Van Sickle Perry, Tod Ford FOR: 430 E Douglas Applicant requests painting of new signage on unpainted brick and painting over existing JR’s Private Club sign. Motion #4 made by Edgington, 2nd by Ingle to approve the sign on the west building facade and to deny the repainting of any previously unpainted masonry and to approve the awning and graphic would be allowed on wood panels rather than painted directly on the building. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). B. MAJOR: (HPC2008-00262) Bitting Historic District, contributing structure APPLICANT: Sammy Lou Lambrechtse FOR: 1121 Bitting Applicant is applying for revolving loan not to exceed $25,000 for repair/replacement of decorative elements and foundation repairs. Sammy Lou Lambrechtse was present for questions and comments. Motion #5 made by Seiwert, 2nd by Willenberg to approve the revolving loan not to exceed $25,000 for the repair/replacement of decorative elements and foundation repairs. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). ITEM NO. 9 MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS A. Report on National Trust Conference by Barbara Hammond B. Kathy Morgan introduced Jeff Flores, Wichita Downtown Development, who was very impressed with the process of the Historic Preservation fabric and vision. C. Consideration of going paperless for board packets. November 8, Meeting staff will do a trial run to include both e-mail and hard copy. (Kathy will check on wireless status). D. Mystery photos from the 1980s? E. Barbara Hammond presented handout of Application to Preserve America Program F. State Preservation Office is having a Local Certified Government Training on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Discussion will cover what Certified Local Government (CLG), making difficult decisions, case study, etc. Any board member that would love to attend please advise staff. G. Topeka House Skinner/Lee opening, 1344 N. Topeka, Sunday, November 16, 2008. H. Discussion on the Koch Office Bldg (Boat House), Section 106 Review Process and the Federal Law for federal dollars received.
