Motion carried unanimously (7-0). ITEM NO. 8 PROJECT REVIEW A. HPC2008-00290 Environs Review of NR listed Dunbar Theater as per K.S.A. 75-2715 – 2725, as amended APPLICANT: John Newman, Jr. FOR: 1003 N Indiana Applicant requests permission to demolish residential structure located on the northwest corner of Indiana and E 9th Street. This house is not eligible for listing because it has aluminum siding. Staff was inside the house several years ago. There was nothing significant on the interior. Windows could be salvaged. Staff recommends that the board find the proposed demolition will not encroach upon, damage or destroy the environs of the Dunbar Theater. The area that provides the most context for the theater is the commercial area at Cleveland and 9th Street. Motion #3 by Churchman, 2nd by Ingle to find the proposed demolition of 1003 N Indiana does not encroach upon, damage or destroy the environs of the Dunbar Theater as reviewed in accordance with K.S.A. 75-2715 – 2725. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). B. HPC2008-00298 Review of Kansas Register and National Register nomination for Broadview Hotel as per K.S.A. 75-2715 – 2725, as amended APPLICANT: Drury Southwest, Inc. FOR: 400 W. Douglas Applicant is requesting support for submission of the nomination to the State Historic Preservation Office. Staff recommends that the board support the nomination of the Broadview Hotel. The hotel will undergo a state and federal tax credit renovation. Motion #4 by Seiwert, 2nd by Edgington to support the proposed nomination of the Broadview Hotel as reviewed in accordance with K.S.A. 75-2715 – 2725. Motion carried unanimously (7-0). C. HPC2009-00001 Review of Kansas Register and National Register nomination for Pryor House as per K.S.A. 75-2715 – 2725, as amended APPLICANT: Dean and Cindy Lott FOR: 263 S. Pershing Applicant is requesting support for submission of the nomination to the State Historic Preservation Office. Staff recommends that the board support the nomination of the Pryor House. Motion #5 made by Ingle, 2nd by Churchman to support the proposed nomination of the Pryor House as reviewed in accordance with K.S.A. 75-2715 – 2725. Motion carried unanimously. ITEM NO. 9 MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS A. Request by Richard Schodorf, President Sunflower Title to address the board Mr. Schodorf is working on a project to inscribe markers along the Arkansas River banks.
